The Rise (and Fall) of the CISO - How the CISO Role is Evolving

28. June 2010, 11:45 - 14:00, Hôtel de la Paix, Lausanne

Registration deadline: 25. Juni 12:00

The CISO job has changed considerably in the last 15 years, and so has the environment in which they operate:

  • the threats faced,
  • mobile everything,
  • more knowledgeable users,
  • financial and resource pressures
  • the emergence of Enterprise Risk Management and formal RM frameworks

The division of responsibilities between IT service providers (in house or outsourced) and the CISO is also shifting to the latter becoming a coordinator, policy advisor and information risk manager. The presentation and its subsequent discussion aim to identify the migration path for the changing role of CISOs performing technical roles from being a cost centre to a value added function.
