ISSS Security Lunch

Understanding and Managing the Human Factor in Information Security

07. Oktober  2009, 12:00 - 14:00,  Zürich

Dieser Anlass ist ein ISSS Security Lunch mit Vortrag und Mittagessen.

Information security is arguably more of a people problem than a technical
one. People design systems, control access rights and create security
breaches. People also identify risks and help prevent incidents. People are
no less than the solution as well as the barrier to effective information

For decades we have tried and failed to manage the human factor in security.
And the problem is getting harder as technology empowers users and creates
greater potential for larger breaches. The answer lies in a more
sophisticated approach to user education and engagement, one that draws on
lessons from psychology and advertising, as well as more mature fields such
as safety management.

David Lacey will outline the true nature of people, culture and networks,
and how to transform human attitudes and behaviour, drawing on three decades
of practical experience and his recently published book 'Managing the Human
Factor in Information Security'.
